How To Calculate The GSM Of Fabric
To calculate the GSM of fabric, you can use the GSM Scale. Here, we share the steps to calculate the GSM of Fabric.
Cut a Sample: Cut a piece of fabric measuring 1 square meter using a GSM cutter
Weigh the Sample: Use a precise scale to weigh the fabric sample in grams.
Calculate GSM: If you used a smaller piece, use the formula:
GSM= (Weight of sample in grams) / (Area of sample in square meters)
For example, if you cut a 0.5 m² piece that weighs 100 grams:
GSM=100 grams / 0.5 m² = 200 GSM
